Geez, thanks guys for the comments, I really appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. I am developing this application to include other features and please check back every now and then to get a new version, as always all code is free to use in any way and I'm not bothered if you don't add me in the code.

The next project coding is a product information management tool.

This program is easy understand. I have the same experience with 'baka'. This program runs excellant in Windows2K, you can add, delete and edit everything on the fly. But when I tested on Windows XP Prfofessional, I could only view the data. The error messages as 'baka' said in his post on 2/6/2007. Are there any workaround Ken?
Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks again for the feedback and please keep it coming...

If your comments specifically relate to the entries on the 6th February then they are likely to be permission related, I am running this on XP Pro so it can't be OS specific.

You need to allow the IUSER_yourmachinename read and write access to the database or the higher level folder in which it resides. To do this you should be able to right click on the file/folder > select properties > select security and add the account above to the list, then you need to give modify or read/write permissions. If you don't have the security tab as visible it is likely that you have simple file sharing setup and need to change this within folder options. Please get back to me if you are experiencing any further issues.

Thank you so much for your comments. It works pretty well now. However, when editing records containing an apostrophe, it bails out. Please offer your comments. I am so sorry to bother again.

Hi, its no problem you guys asking questions and the apostrophe is a common issue to have to deal with in programming as it acts generally as an escape character for strings. Within the insert or update scripts you could run a small validation check that either wraps the apostophe in quotes or replaces the apostrophe altogether with the encoding value. I am not in a plce right now where I can get to the script but when I do I will update the pages to deal with this specific issue amongst some others which have since been identified. Please keep an eye on this post to see the update...

Best Regards

Kevin
