Nice piece of code. Joins such as this come in handy from time to time, especially in reporting situations. I actually wrote a function that used a temp table which was used to join to a table/query in the db for the use of multi-selected user parameter vaues for a report. Good stuff!

How would this work with a stored procedure that has parameters passed to it?

Passing a string variable that contains the stored procedure with its arguments into the OPENQUERY function doesn't seem to work.

Is this really a viable solution considering only members of the sysadmin and setupadmin fixed server role can execute sp_serveroption?
