This code takes a submitted email address/string and converts it to standardized ASCII Character codes, thus blocking bots/spiders from reading your email address, while yet allowing visitors to continue to read and use your proper address via mailto links, etc

wouldnt some spammers first render the page then work through the rendered webpage, not the html source, and grab the email that way?

I donīt really get it!. All Good spammers email engines work via mailto command. dynamik pages create mailto command in the email address so this tehnice it can not be used 100%.

to Cover all the Response:
1. It would be a waste of resources to have a bot download all the HTML, then render it then re-read it
2. Even if the bot rendered the info, a simple pull of the code would still show A instead of A
3. Sure a bot looks for MAILTO: commands, but pulling MAILTO:#45;#45, etc isn't going to do any good as the mail isn't going to make it to your address.
4. SURE it's possible that a bot could render the code to HTML then re-render it back to readable text. HOWEVER, this is not a typical practice by bots, and 2, what an incredible waste of resources for just one email address.

They still can if the bot also searches for the hex version of "mailto:"
