     Edit 26-7-2012, this is old and too simple it uses a listbox and filebox etc. It will go pretty slow. I am sure there are betters ways. But anyways if you still want to check this out, go ahead. Regards.

If a file extension is supplied in the search for file then you can add the following just before you call Command1_click

File1.Pattern = "*" & Right$(WhatSearch, InStr(1, WhatSearch, "."))

This makes the search much quicker as the filebox only has files in it with a valid extension.

If you set the file and dir boxes visibility to false you will also see a speed increase as they are not having to be redrawn each time.
