Awsome script! It is just what I was looking for. I changed a couple of things though, like using only the 'memberid', 'name', 'password', and 'memberdate'fields. I also set up a pre-populated drop-down menu for the very specific number of members names that will be involved, which is 10 and already known.

Keep up the good work!

Nice script. I fused it with a random password genertator and that worked great. Only problem is in the admin portion, I loggin as admin. It presents me a page that has 26 users. 25 are displayd so I am at page 1 of 2. When I click on Next for page 2 it goes to the loggin page.

Any idea why?

To the people with Update Error.

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for
ODBC
Drivers error '80004005'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access
Driver] Cannot update. Database or
object is read-only.

If you are using IIS, here is how to solve the problem.
First off, Right click the Main file with all the pages in.
and select PROPERTIES>Web Sharing.
Then click on *Share this folder*.
Then a pop-up will come alond, titled "Edit Alias".
here you can now change you 'Access Permissions'. Once done then click "Ok", and you are ready to go.
Have a nice day.
Marilyn.

Please help. I try this on a virtual directory with no modification to your code. I got the following when I try to confirm the creation of a user account. Also, during the signup process, it ask for the Country, I select USA and it prompts me for state.

Error Type:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.
/test/addnewmember.asp, line 49

Here is the segment that is tries to post for Country.

&state=Ca&country=California&

Can you help me with this? Thanks.

2/7/2006 10:45:48 AMKen

Okay, I've found the solution to the OLE DB problem. It was the file security. I have to grant everyone read and write to the folder containing the member.mdb it resolves that problem. Then I ran into another problem in that after I put in the username and password and click on the login button, I was redirected back to the login page. I've looked at the veryfypassword.asp and replace all entries of email with name and it resolves that. Now when I login, I get the member.asp page with a greeting to the username that I've logged in with. Still looking into the Country problem.

It doesn't write the session variable for me. When I redirect to the home page and then navigate back to the protected page, it returns me to the login page. (After having already logged in.)
