This is fairly nice code, but you seem to be duplicating the role of XML, would it not be easier to do it all using xml/xsl in the first place, then you could use all the xslt syntax which achieves the same result, but leaves the code more re-usable, because it is stored in open standard format (If this comment was disrespectful, please report it.)
