Heriberto, its more a special kind of label with fixed high than a frame control. On a frame normaly you can put other controls and you don't need subs like SetAccessKeys() ;-) Anyway: Very nice design! Usefull to create fancy looking GUIs! My ***** and regards - LiTe

Yeah LiTe is right, but didn't I find an appropriate name for the control, some suggestion in the name?

Thx for the comment and vote, I'll think of a better name.

I think this should be called a gradient label or something similar to that, rather than calling it a frame. A frame is a container control that contains other controls. Your frame cannot contain any control.

But it's really a nice control.

Thx Geo for the comment, yeah I changed the name for HeaderMS xD.

@Boatarn is easy to put controls in Container if you change the Property ControlContainer of the UC, I called Frame coz in essence if it's.

Thx Matt for your vote.

Hi Heriberto, nice project as usual, although I've only played with it briefly. I work out of my home and as you know, in the consulting business you can go from doing nothing for weeks to being frantically busy in no time. Right now I'm real busy but I'll try to go over this thoroughly as soon as I can!

This's my last submission in this site, I don't understand what happened with the other submission, my submission don't poor than another but in only 1 day, 2 submission surpasses me, better I don't say anything.

Is crazy 1979 times and few comments and vote, is strange.

Goodbye Forever PSC.

Heriberto I genuinely hope you do not abandon PSC. I am a long-time fan of your projects and this submission has been awarded excellent votes from PSC veterans. It is a real shame that so few people bother to vote or provide feedback. It seems there are far too many takers and not enough people who give something back. Maybe restricting the access of users who do not submit code would help (such as preventing voting which may kill off the suspect votes from names we have never heard of) . Anyway you have my ***** for this one already in the bag :)

Heriberto, it's obvious that this site has been sliding slowly toward oblivion lately. The migration to .Net, plus the influx of yammering self-important id1ots in the last few months that do little but leave the SAME COMMENTS in just about every submission ("This vb 6.0 submission doesn't work in VB5! WAHHHHH!") may well have turned many people off this site. I have a new MorphControl about 75% complete, it's doubtful I'll submit it because I agree with you. Richard has valid points also. It's not fun like it used to be.

Another thing that may be turning people off is the atrocious way some otherwise talented programmers are treating people who leave constructive criticisms/ideas on their submissions. "Do it yourself, you have the source code" and sniping at people for leaving bug reports (as one multiple contest winner regularly does) makes it harder for people to care. Brilliant submissions are now winning COTM with 22 votes. Used to be 60 for a top-of-the-line advanced project.

Dont be dissapointed mi hermano, hmmm, i dont know what to say again, i agree with Richard and Option Explicit. Im your biggest fans! also. And may be you dont have to put all of your code until people vote and comment you. xD

9/19/2006 10:42:56 AMHeriberto Mantilla Santamaria

Thx so much my friends for the nice comments.

Yeah PSC now don't "good" site, I think that people with zero code wouldn't vote, only comment and download the source.

Matt is true the submissions won with 22 votes, now the history repeats. I see codes that appear of the nothing and take 13 or more votes, the strange are the votes coz the date of which one are different, is crazy.

Good programmer are leave of PSC in this last year.

I have a new code, but I doubt to publish it in PSC too for many reasons.

Heriberto,
You have to examine the reasons why you contribute to this community. To win a contest, -or to teach while you learn, and to enrich your community. We have all benefitted from the generosity of those before us, learned from their work, and in turn pass along our experience, that is how a community evolves. Contest itself is clearly political, to some degree, friends, voting only for each other, and so is not to be taken very seriously. Indifference of users on vb side is bound to increase, as language lapses into irrelevancy, so maybe it is time people start trying to make .net side work. It seems to me that if the quality of submissions in .net increases, and database becomes more substantial, it will in turn attract more users, and could evolve into what vb side once was..

I very much agree with Steppenwolfe, the contests, while fun to compete in (and fun to win), are really meaningless in the long run. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have won some. But the best part of PSC is the feedback, which is what makes this site "alive" and a "community". Unfortunately as I mentioned above relevant commentary is getting harder to find; it seems to be mostly blathering by certain pseudointellectual gasbags trying to sound important by making boring repetetive comments in everyone's submissions. But I still check this site every day; if it loses all relevance it is because the good people who used to care have abandoned it. And the only people left will be the gasbags. AT least if we all move to .Net we won't see "Doesn't run in VB5" in our comments lol.

I like IVan's comment above - "And may be you dont have to put all of your code until people vote and comment you." Ah, the old contest tactic of submitting "new updates" at strategic times during the month (right up till the last day of the month), to keep it on the front page and maybe squeeze another vote. "Version 12.29.2 is up!" Sometimes this place cracks me up.

9/20/2006 4:48:56 AMHeriberto Mantilla Santamaria

Yeah Jhon I don't criticize for the votes, I criticize the fraudulent votes.

Me don't need to won, I want criticize feedback for my code this more better for me that one vote.

My last code use database concept and won, but what happened with this, you remember?

@Matt is sure, many good programmer leave PSC, the old contest tactic is good for big project :) but for example for this small code not apply.
