This is my version of an Intranet Chess game. It does not have AI in it but it does check for valid moves. Part 2 is required and has the default chess board in it. Other chess boards are in parts 3 thru 7.
If you don't have the font vixarasc.ttf on your system, install it before running the program or loading it in VB6. This font is required and is included in the zip. Source code is included.

To play the chess game, click on the NEW button. Click on the chess piece you wish to move. The box around the chess piece will turn red. Click on the square you wish to move to.

The graphics for the game itself are great. But the layout is very crowded, almost every label is clipped as well as the command buttons.

the program ads written will occasionally hang in check situations where no check situation exists for the current player. It also has no knowlege of EN PASSANT.

EN PASSANT and another move are not included in this version. If you like you can add them and send me the update. Also, if you can find out where it is hanging you could fix that too or let me know where the error is I will fix it.

My apologies, evidently I had not unselected a piece before correcting my move when in check. However, if while in check ... if you move your pawn to the eighth rank .. if it doesn't take you out of check you get moved back ... but your piece remains a queen. I'll try working on the en passant thing. It's a great piece of work. Thanks for uploading it.

The Pawn to Queen to Queen I can fix. However the en passant move I do not totally understand and never use. If you could enlighten me on this I should be able to add it.
Thank you for your comments. Its nice to hear when a person likes my work they tell me. The game may still have a few issues but all in all it works... I will work on the issues you brought up and maybe submit a new version.
