Listen to hundreds of internet radio stations from around the world with this full-featured player. The reason fo this update is that most radio stations in the US and Canada have abandoned streams compatible with Windows Media Player in favor of browser-based players. But it's still nice to be able to choose from a menu of stations and run the player as an icon. So this version adds the WebBrowser control. And because there's no volume control associated with the WebBrowser control, I added master volume controls for Windows XP and Windows Vista (written by Ray Molenkamp). The Media Player support is still there and works well with most non-US stations (I updated that list).

Hi Herbert N Swearengen III,
Was wondering what version of Visual Studio was used for this? I have Studio 2005, but can not open the iRadio 2.sln file. States that it was created with a newer version.
Thanks

Hi,

The solution was built with VS2008 and the solution files are not compatible with VS2005. The project files are compatible, though. Here are the steps to create a VS2005 solution:

1. Delete the existing .sln and .sou solution files.
2. Open the iRadio 2 project with VS2005.
3. Delete the line "Option Infer Off" in MainForm.vb
4. Add existing project CoreAudioApi
5. Add existing project Setup
6. Change the project build order if necessary to CoreAudioApi, iRadio 2, Setup.
7. Highlight iRadio 2 Solution from the Solution Explorer.
8. Save the solution as iRadio 2.sln below the 3 project folders.

The solution should now build and run in VS2005.

Hi Herbert,
Thank you very much for sharing this once again, i still have your old version on my computer, i learned a lot from it.

As stayed before, the list of stations, countries, etc. are no showing, i have VB2008 so its no a compatibility problems, since you are using 2008 as well.

Do you have any idea what may be happening or what am I doing wrong?

Hi Kiwil,

I just did some tests and everything was fine. Maybe the file you downloaded was corrupted. I did:

1. I downloaded the source code from PSC.
2. I built the unmodified solution in VS2008 Professional.
3. I installed and successfully tested it on these operating systems: XP (32-Bit) SP3, XP (64-Bit) SP2, Vista Business (32-Bit)
SP1, and Vista Ultimate (64-Bit) SP1.

I suggest you uninstall iRadio 2 and also delete the source code.

When you run the installation program, look carefully at the "Select
Installation Folder" screen. On your computer it should say "C:\Program
Files\Virtual Software\iRadio 2\" If it doesn't just cancel the
installation!

Then go to the command prompt and type Set > Environ.txt. Send me that file.

I created a little program so I can see what the special folders are on you
system. But I can't send it to you because the email address I have for you won't work.

Herb

Kiwil,

I tried to respond to the email you sent me today, but it won't go! Maybe my ISP doesn't like gmail?

Shoot me another email from someplace other than gmail if you can.

Hi Herbert. Do you think the there is a change that you can re upload these files again or maybe send then to my email?
The reason is because there are some files missing, like on the xml files for example; Albania, Dominican Republic, and others are missing. Also some others files. I have downloaded the file several times hoping it was a problem with Winrar/WinZip but NOT there are just no present in the compressed folder!

Looks like an interesting project. Is there a way to run this in VB2008 Express? It looks like I need to compile the CoreAudioApi project first which seems to be written in C#.
