(About the author)

This selfcontained usercontrol adds often needed functions to VBs forms. Just setting more properties here instead of the forms properties box. I put the spot onto the integration, the working together of functions you normaly have separated. Started on June 2004 this larger project has a long historie and is used in very stable apps. You find a longer list with detailed credits (Paul Caton, Bryan Stafford, Carles P.V. and more) in code and ReadMe file. Theres a lot of time and some nice solutions in. Plz check it out (9 demo forms included to play with), tell me what you mean and maybe you like to vote for it ;-) ____ Oct 2005 - Light Templer

LiTe, another fine submisison. Clean, efficient readble code thats well commented & documented. I've used/seen some of the functionality provided by your control in the oast but I've never seen them all integrated together in a single solution. 5*

Thx Richard for kind words and vote! In August '04 when you released your own fine submission to this theme I didn't released it because of yours ... ;-) Now it has some more features (e.g. app to app / form to form transmission of strings) and is tested in production enviroment.

I've only just started to play with this control but I can already tell it's going to be useful and fun. Thanks LiTe.

Great Code LiTe - as per usual! clean, easy to read, and nice functionality.

I've only just started playing with it, but here's a few comments so far:

1) Your form on-mouse-over / out events work fine in XP, but it would be interesting to capture mouse activity over the window chrome - not a request so much as a thought :)

2) percentage vs fixed on background gradients - superb!

3) Show Form Without Activation - something which ZoneAlarm should pick up on!

Top quality code! I'm looking forward to stripping out all the rubbish code in multiple projects and replacing with this! 5*

Excellent work, Lite. You'd be a good test for my next release of the self-sub UserControl... if you're interested email me. I also have some code that you might like to add to your Wizzform control.

Hi folks and many thanks for all of the excellent votes! Its a good feeling to see putting a lot of time into a project to get it to final state and preparing it for submission is acknowledged by PSC community.

You are using the API function:
SwitchToThisWindow (in the Sub PutFormOnTop).
You should to inform (comment) that this function is available in the Windows 2000 and above,
and according to MS Platform SDK:
'this function is deprecated and not intended for general use. It is recommended that you do not use it in new programs because it might be altered or unavailable in subsequent versions of Windows'.
5 globes.

Kasiam, thats right. And a shame to MS because of there is no other functional solution to get the same result properly. Example: Look at Explorer's right click menu 'Open with ...' in W2K. If there is one or more other apps lying under your explorer window the program selection dialog appears UNDER the whole window stack. This takes users crazy! And so I deciced: I want to have a function which does the job. (And when Vista comes and MS has fixed this I sit down and write an update ... ;-) )
Thx and regards - LiTe

LiTe, meant to come back and give you cudos. You don't need my votes this late in the month, but got them anyway. I'm still looking at ways to encorporate a couple of your ideas into one or two of my projects. Of the dozen or so coders on this site I really learn alot from, you're definitely one of the top few. Thanx.

LaVolpe, thank you very much for your kind words (is 'compliments' the right english word for? Sry, I was in doubt after using the Google translator :-) ) Your famous button is standard in all of my UI projects the last years and your FYI submissions are one of the best sources for heavy VB problems. So lets rock VB to the limits ;-) !

Once again, one great solution to several annoying issues - where do the ideas come from, Gunth? 55555!

maghick: The ideas are pur need :-) And Pauls subclasser is MADE for this kind of stuff. The rest is: Keep it simple to use.
