This is a web-based version of Enterprise Manager for SQL Server and MSDE. An online demo is available at http://www.aspenterprisemanager.com/. This is an Open Source Project in VB.Net, ASP.Net and ADO.Net that is in the early stages, so any contributions, feedback or additions are greatly appreciated. ASP Enterprise Manager will allow you to create and edit tables, stored procedures and views, manage logins and database users, manage basic permissions, and query your database returning multiple recordsets. This is the version 0.5.0 release of the code and structures most of the code with better .Net structures (on most of the pages), introduces a class structure (I am working on documenting the classes), cuts down on the number of connections that are made to the SQL Server, introduces an XP style interface and adds a few new features and interface enhacements. This code is not a Visual Studio Project so it only requires the .Net Framework, Someone is also working on a version of this project as a Visual Studio Project using C#, that code can be downloaded from the website (http://www.aspenterprisemanager.com/)

Nice..5 from me, but you should use code-behind files in ASP.NET (aspx.vb)

4 from me! :) Nice ASP coding but not truly using "the powers" of ASP.NET. Probably converted (which is ok of course)... so I rated the original ASP version with 5.

Thanks for all your comments and support. I hope to clean up the code and use Code Behinds once I figure out the process of using the SQL Stored Procedures and INFORMATION_SCHEMA to manipulate the database and provide all of the functionality that I can figure out from SQL Server Books Online. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated, I am learning the SQL System Stored procedures and .NET both so any help is more than welcomed.

I read some people are having problem when installing. I suggest you put everything in the root folder first. If you already have default.asp then rename it to something else because ASP Net Man. already has one. First install it to a test server with a .net frame work then check your setting in IIS at >.NET section. Make sure .net account has permissions to that folders. make sure web.config global.asa is in the root I also have
_codebehind classes bin folders in the root. Then once you understand the concept you can change the folders and code. May be you will be asking more valuable questions then.

Hi, Pls help me and I'm sure you can...
I am unable to compile your code and spending hours and hours... I get the following error for Could not load type 'ASPEnterpriseManager.ConnectionString' and 7 warnings for "Access of shared member, constant member, enum member or nested type through an instance; qualifying expression will not be evaluated."

Earlier there were 28errors but I managed to remove those.

FYI, The Project lies at the location: D:\Development\Net\ASP\

and I am working on VS.net2005.

Please tell me what exactly do i need to do before I run your code in .net

Regards,
Diya
