This is the major update of my AWARD WINNING code(now supports all major EXE's-VB, Delphi, VC++,FLASH etc.) this submission has a number of new features, and has almost everything you find in commercial software protectors. Convert your Exe Files into trial versions within few minutes, everything has been taken care of and exe's protected with this open source version is almost uncrakable. There are number of Anti Dumping and Anti Debug measures implemented in the loader like MEMORY ENCRYPTION, MEMORY STRIP, Debugger detection systems and more. If you implement these protection then it becomes very difficult for the cracker to to dump your software from the memory. And there is VARIABLE KEYS- it means that no one can make registry erasing cracks any more, Exe Protector stores data in different locations on each computer. Registration key system is also technically advanced because of MONITORING THREAD running in background so its impossible to load any cracking tools while exe protector is running and registration now supports 15 different hardwarefingerprints like SMART (the most unique number a computer has), BIOS, VOLUME, GEOMETRY, CPU INFO, MEMORY. With four cool trial systems TRIAL BY DAYS, TRIAL BY DATE, TRIAL BY COUNT,TRIAL BY VERSION which you can implement in your protected software. With Language editor you can put your own custom texts in the loader. Loader uses Advanced Tamper detection systems and loader immediately blocks the access to your software if any information is manually modiifed, but still a user can unblock it with UNBLOCK KEY.The loader is extremely fast, it is tested under different conditions and it works pretty well.There are many customisable options like you can choose to give FREE UPDATES for minor versions of your software, reset trial on new versions, add BUY NOW URL's, increase trial count by request, password access to reigstration menu and more. And thats not all Exe Protector now supports SDK from which you can add programatic functions to your software like GetRegstrationName, InstallKey, InitiateCreep. There is a feature in SDK called "Creep" i call it creep because it silently keep cracker away from your software. The "Creeps" should be spread all around your software like in the functions where some serious programming is done, now exe protector will secure all the places where "creep" is implemented. Thanks to Public Key Encryption Module- now your software is uncrackable even in this open source version. This may sound silly,install IIS if you are getting errors. Try to register rsaenh.dll from XP Safe Mode. Still i can't make out whats the problem. I should have used symmetric cipher but i wanted to help other auhtors so i used public key. (If this comment was disrespectful, please report it.)
Note: If the tamper error occurs then the Registry/File is modified (Do not tweak with source code), registry settings can be reset using "Tamper Unblock KEy" (If this comment was disrespectful, please report it.)

PPL, if you are getting errors while protecting software(like "could not obtain public key") then pls download this file and replace it with protectormod.bas file in Exe Protector irectory, its will fix all the problem. Isn't working for me. I tried almost every option, and when I try to open the protected (output) exe file, nothing happens. Windows just makes the beep sound as if there was an error but there is no error message. I'm running Windows XP Professional, and I applied the patch to the software (protectmod.bas) or whatever it's called. Help. :( (If this comment was disrespectful, please report it.)

Great program, although the 'date tamper detection' means no one can adjust their clocks on daylight savings time.
Additionally XP Time Synch has to be turned off.

BEEP problem under XP as explained by Sri is actually fixable in the open source. I changed both the EXE files compatibility to Windows 2000. After compiling the exe protector and your exe, adjust their compatibility BEFORE you try to protect. Once you protect it, it will all be fine. FINALLY can give FIVE huge stars. But I'm facing the problem of Windows BEEP. I registered that DLL, I downloaded the new version of protectormod.bas and I'm copying the Public_Key.pbk file.. I'm still hearing the BEEP sound on Windows XP Professional.
I tried changing the "Run as" to Windows 2000, and it showed a "Loading" window and then ended (1 second only).
I tried to secure more than 1 file, the same problem.. how to solve it please?
And for commercial version, how can I get it please? And how much? is it with source code?

Zip contains UserControl1.ctl, but I don't see it used in the project. Is this control necessary?
RES contains two "CUSTOM" resources. What are these? Loaders? It would be nice to have the source to these two resources - it would help to better understand how the entire application works, give the opportunity for detecting and correcting potentially existing bugs in the code, and allow for customization, optimization and enhancements. Having the VB source for these resources would also qualify this submission to be categorized as 100% source code (which it currently is not). ... I'm shocked to see that there is no Hardware fingureprints involved in this project at all. The SMART, CPU, BIOS are all just Chr coded string: don't bother LOL! Is there really any Hardware locking in this project coded??? (If this comment was disrespectful, please report it.)
I would like to point out that anyone that has this program can un-lock any program that was locked by it. (providing that they can program in VB) the code to decrypt the files and and keys would both be on the system. The code is good other then the overall flaw in the logic.

From first test this program is very very very good! compliments Sriharish :) (5 globes) I have protect an exe whit all the option :), next I have reversed the loader (79 Kb) are compact with PECompact, than I have unpack it and now it's 239 Kb :) After do this the difficult was the confusion product by the p-code and same check, then I have dumped the Progetto1.exe.locked from the loader ;-) in any case this is the best vb protector that I have see :) I'm able to unpack exe-cryptor it's normal that I'm able to dump this good program. Very compliments, we must think that is coded in VB6!, Sriharish have do a programming miracle :-) Do you havent put the source of the loader for security?

Sorry, but the code in this project is awful. The well-written code is by other people (which you have acknowledged), and is actually quite a large part of the project. Other than that it is littered with spelling mistakes, badly indented/commented, and basically a mess. (If this comment was disrespectful, please report it.)
This is some of the buggiest and messiest code I've ever seen. You're lucky if you can get it to work. Also, you didn't release the source code to the loader (ironically, on a site meant for submitting *source code*).

A very comprehensive piece of software. It worked in a weird way - it created a loader program with the same name as the original exe and a larger .exe.locked file. The loader, loads the exe and everything runs. But you can rename the exe.locked file and still run it with no protection what so ever.
I did have the original exe UPX packed though...
