Not to criticize but you have some flaws. For starters C++ has been standardized since 1998(Almost 4 1/2 years ago) and there's no excuse to be using deprecated stuff. There's no void main in C++. main must be defined as integer as it states in ISO/IEC 14882-1998(standard document can be found at www.ansi.org ). All standard headers don't have .h at end and fall under standard namespace. i.e. #include

std::cout <<

Actually Diligant Coder to be precise ANSI\ISO standerdized C++ in 1995 called the committee draft 1 and in december 1996 another CD, then finally in 1998 they finished the final draft =)

To shut down console in DEV C++:
cin.ignore(256, '\n');
cout << "Press ENTER to continue..." << endl;
cin.get();

after using: used namespace std;
Nothing else worked for me.

this IS by far the biggest and best tutorial for beginners. before i read it i barely even new what C++ was. now i have a good knowledge of the things that make my computer tick. would have been nice if you included something about "if()" statements because "cin" isnt nearly as useful if it cant be used to make decisions. great walk through though.
