I noticed that there was a pattern to this program's movement.. if you add
Randomize Timer in the first line of RandNum you'll be better off.. maybe add a color change background eh? dunno.

For those of you who are having trouble, Just past the code and add a timer control on your form. Then start the app. It's really cool.

Reminds me of a prog i did when i got bored in class... I can't remember what we were workin on but i got sidetracked and made it real flashy....

i made like 15 timers and gave them all radical and supremely randomised code, and set their intervals somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-54. All of them made the screen change colors, from white to cyan, and even the brightest yellows and greens i could find!

as soon as I started it the whole room lit up with almost hypnotic flashes.... it's was fun to watch!

(if any of ya try to make that one, it'd be a good idea if you made sure your video card AND monitor can handle it, else it doesn't look right)

couple of suggestions for the program,
Add "Form1.BorderStyle = 0" to the Form_Load(), and at the beginning add "Dim ht, wh As Integer" Also you could add a second form that has a different color and is on a different RandomNum...

3/31/2002 2:05:49 PMJoeDaddy

It would be much more fun to watch if it changed colors.

Hmmm... Maybe if there was a secondary form to hide the rest of the screen, like make the background the opposite color of the jumping form. That looks pretty cool.

Quick, short, easy code. Works fine. But maybe if you make the form to load Maximized and a Label is what bounces around... sometimes it can be hard to click the darn form :P

if you did something like:

CommonDialog1.ShowColor
Form1.BackColor = CommonDialog1.Color

in the Form1_Load section and added a common dialog box control you could have the user select the color of the form!

Dude, you forgot to mention that you need a timer and you didn't declare your variables! That is so bad! Nice program though, but a bit annoying to actually use as a screen saver.

'Dude, you forgot to mention that you
need a timer'. HyperHacker, what else would ' Assumes:add a timer (Timer1) with an interval of 175' mean?????

Umm, what can i say?
Pretty pointless i guess...
Just forms appearing and disappearing all over the screen
Having that as a screensaver would just be stoopid.
Nice short code though, demonstrates randomization well.

I just get a black screen....
Also I get Runtime error 424 everytime I try and run the form. Its to do with the 'Timer1.Interval = 175' at

Form1.BorderStyle = 0
Timer1.Interval = 175
End Sub

Hope you can fix this

Dude, that kinda wigged my eyes out, but it was really cool. Shows randomization pretty well. Maybe try changing colors(yeah, yeah, everybody else said that too. I know.)
