Do you really mean adding, deleting & modifying records to a database means editing the database!

where as this is some great code the user interface is a little interesting. Any reason that you didn't just use a flex grid or something along those lines??? ***** though for the great code.

im new to programming,i have a question. how can i put a passwrod to my MS access and let my VB open it. coz i need to put a security on my database.

Thanks for the feedback.

You can add password to your database in Access by clicking on tools from the drop down menu and then security, then "set database password." you can open it using code in VB by specifying the password on your connection string.

example in ADO is ===

clConn.Open "PROVIDER=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & App.Path & "\mydb.mdb" & ";Mode=ReadWrite|Share Deny None;Persist Security Info=False" & ";Jet OLEDB:Database Password=" & MyPassword
MyPassword being a variable that contains the password. clConn being declared as Adodb.connection

Example opening in DAO is===
Set Db = OpenDatabase(DbFileName, False, False, ";pwd=" & DbPass)

Db being declared as a database, Dbfilename, as string containg the path of the database and DbPass a variable containing the password.

Everything works great but the Adding feature isn't that clear. look over it again and could you re explain how to add a record (lets say you have 3 fields)
ID, Name, Number

(If this comment was disrespectful, please report it.)

9/9/2004 1:29:53 PMCarlo Rodriguez

to add a record, you just type in the data you would want to go into the field, and then click next. when the command next becomes disabled then you have to click save. if your copy of the code doesn't automatically change the command button's caption to save when the last field is reached then try downloading the code again. i made a small blunder with the previous code regarding adding records, and i have uploaded the new one. thanks to Bulut for bringing this to my attention. =)
