Although the person above me did not finsih his comment, I agree with him. This is not really an encryption/decryption file. It is simply just showing how to encrypt a simple word, not a file. It's just text. Good for a complete beginner though.

Sergio, You placed this in the beginners and deserve credit for that, this can teach a beginner some things about working with modules while learning about string manipulation. Thanks.

Thanks for this simple encrypt/decrypt. I will use this for my project after all security is not a very major concern on it.

Hi Author!
You did good try. But I recommend the incomplete comment in sl. no. 1, this is technically no considerable a encr/decr file. But it is a good click for beginners. A nice work and you deserve for it...

It's good for beginners code, but the idea behind encryption is a function, like a normal f(x) = y that (i don't recall the mathematical term for it) returns one and only one y for each x, so that f-inverse(y) = x. You code does not take a mathematical but rather tries to add a code word for every letter. This means it can only encode/decode prescripted letters. As a Norwegian I can testify that it did't tackle the special Norwegian characters Ø,Æ and Å. In fact, I can only hande standard english. Not even bell signs, tabs or character returns. :) a better idea would be to get the Asc() value of each letter, and then do some complex math on it, maybe flip some letters around, and then print the letters out again with the chr() function. contact me if you need an example =) cheers

This is not an encryption. It does not require a key. It is an encoding. You could have done a lot easier with an array of the changes a for loop and replace().
