This is a very early version of a shell that I am creating. The GUI for is very nice for a dos application. There are varios other things you will be able to do inside Jinx. There are 2 games you can play, and a couple of features already in Jinx itself. Tell me if you have any sugesstions. :) Thanks feel free to vote of comment. [AIM\Yahoo: Nit3shift] Email: JNixon21@excite.com] Yes I JINX is based on JINX HackWear but mines differant logo.

It obviously shows good programming skills, but it really doesn't accomplish anything that windows can't do by itself. I understand it is advanced programming, but writing a shell that requires windows to be installed is rather pointless...

It actully requires DOS to run it not windows at all. I will use asm to do things. So no i dont need windows at all. Honest vote thank you.

Yeah for some reason when I try to compile this I get 52 errors.. Dunno why, maybe because the workspace for it wasn't included, so any libs you added weren't added in.. Looked cool was hoping to be able to try it out and maybe edit the code a bit.. However guess I'm not able to do it :P

Try compiling it under Turbo C++ or any just dos based compiler. I know i have tried to run it under VC++ compiler and have got some nasty errors. Somewhere around 152. WOW!!!!

Dude, Josh. Tell me EXACTLY all the stuff you used to compile Jinx. EVERYTHING. Email me the libraries, if you can, and they're not common. And what compiler?

Well bro lets start by getting a E-Mail address or screen name from you. I compiled it under Turbo C++. My Screen Name is Nit3shift Aim/Yahoo!. Guess what Guys!!! I got the internet working in Jinx. You will all see soon enough. Making new apps in it this time you can download then and put them in the Jinx Apps folder since PSC does not add it.

Josh, well, here I am again... but anyway... what version of TC++ did you use? My e-mail is cyber_surfer692001@yahoo.com. I have turbo C++, but for some reason... IOSTREAM HAS LIKE A THOUSAND ERRORS. My aim handle is smoonamoo.

I gotta say this is some decent coding.. but its reinventing the wheel. They have this thing now called windows, and an even cooler thing known as linux... you should focus your coding talents on something that has applications to peoples lives. If you want to make jinx worthwhile, make it standalone.

When i try to compile with VC++ 6.0: "Cannot open include file: 'graphics.h': No such file or directory Error executing cl.exe"
Where i can get tis file? Can someone help me? Thankx
(If this comment was disrespectful, please report it.)

3/1/2003 11:34:48 PMJosh Nixon

My application will not run under VC++ 1). Because VC++ does not suppost asm interrupts, so even if you got "graphics.h" to run under VC++ it still would not work for that reason alone. Sorry try using Turbo C++ 3.0 which is what i created it in Thanks Best Regards --Josh

Its good that your application don't require windows to do things, since about everything written today does. I think that this application has the potential to develop. Keep at it.
