Well, now VB developers do not have to worry any more about API's for having custom menus, system information, system tray access, multiline and balloon tooltips. All are under *one* roof. Just a reference to a DLL to your VB project and that's it. With just one line of code, you can create *wonders* to VB code and that too very very professional. Making Developer's Life Easier.. !!

1/23/2004 9:21:36 AM

wow -- dude, I haven't gotten this excited about some PSC code in a while. This dll is off the hook! You're spoiling me! As an experienced VB programmer, I already knew, for example, how to manipulate translucency and fade outs, etc. Ditto with the systray. But to check for the proper OS and fade the form in ONE LINE -- that's great. Well done, 5 globes.

Hi,
I don't install my projects on user's PCs, I just give them the exe
(I accomplish this by avoiding 3rd party controls etc).
I believe it is possible to create DLLs that can be used (without registering), provided they are in the same folder as the exe.
Am I deluded (possibly) ?
Can your DLL be made to do that ?

Thanks for sharing.
(If this comment was disrespectful, please report it.)

5/22/2007 1:08:06 AMShantibhushan Naik

Hi Rob C
No. As of VB6, you explicitly have to register dlls to use them in your exe.
In .NET, you can have dlls in same folder as your exe.

I hope this was helpful.
