     This screen saver simulates 4 particles with gravity, and draws color changing lines between them. Gravity, refresh, and number of color bars are fully configurable, and you end up with some VERY neat pictures. I used the screen saver template at vbhelper.com as a starting point.

And 1 more thing to remember. To actually use it as a screen saver, you must compile the exe, then change .exe to .scr in the file name. Then right click on the icon and choose the "Install" option. Have fun.

Yeah, you need to fix that...you need to make the cursor re-appear after you right click. Nice code though... Was is supposed to make sound?

This works great, but I can't get it to start automatically. Without that ability, it doesn't make a good screen saver, other than that, I really like it.

to fix the cursor problem edit the mousedown event on the frmCover form as follows:

Private Sub Form_MouseDown(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single)
On Error Resume Next

If Button = 2 Then
ShowCursor True
End
End If
randomizeStart

Do While True
DoEvents
passTime
Loop

End Sub

When I compile it with Vb5 and vb6 and run it in either Win95 or Win98, all I see is a blank screen. What did I do wrong?

I lose my cursor, the code U gave dousnt always work. It isnt just a case of true or false for showing the cursor. If you set it to true the it adds to the cursor visiblity but this might not always be enough to make it visible. try this...

Private sub Form_Unload(Cancel aas integer)

Dim retval as long

While retval <=0

retval = showcursor 1

wend

end sub

The code doesn't seem to work on NT4, particularly the Preview mode. The instancing control is incorrect and multiple instances of the app get spawned. It's also lacking the MouseMove code to deactivate the screen saver.

to this

If Button = 2 Then

You can update your code and still keep the award. They only vanish if you upload a new version. That disappearing cursor problem is still in code.

Can somebody tell me how this very interesting screen saver fills the whole screen? Whenever I try to code something similar, nothing will get rid of the title bar and the task bar.

In vb 6 to make a form full screen, go to its properties, set its window state to 2, Full screen, and set its ControlBox property to False, and its Caption to ""
