Ok, here's a simple space game for you to play with. It's quite addictive (I think) and its got some comic sound effects. Its not supposed to be a true clone, I wrote it as an example of writing simple DirectX applications, so it uses DirectDraw, DirectSound and DirectInput. The ending is quite funny (but slightly tacky). The code is well commented and quite easy to read, that was the idea. Please vote for this app. It takes a while to load the images and sound files on some computers. So if the screen is blank for a long time, just wait a little longer, it most probably hasn't crashed. Due to a 500 server error when I try to upload the file, I've put the data files from the game here: sorry for any inconvenience, but it couldn't be helped.

Afterdownloading it, you will need a program like Winzip to decompress it.Virus note:All files are scanned once-a-day by Planet Source Code for viruses, but new viruses come out every day, so no prevention program can catch 100% of them. For your own safety, please:
  1. Re-scan downloaded files using your personal virus checker before using it.
  2. NEVER, EVER run compiled files (.exe's, .ocx's, .dll's etc.)--only run source code.

If you don't have a virus scanner, you can get one at many places on the net
