(About the author)

The first version of this tool was posted on January 2001 which was supposed to split only text files with fixed record length, but i got some harsh response for that and i was asked if i can spice it up. So here is the spicy version called CuteSplit. CuteSplit allows you to split any type of file and join them back, it is the fastest and accurate file splitter tool you have ever seen, just pure VB codes and best of all it is free with source code for VB community. CuteSplit is very easy to use. Browse for a file and select from several popular split sizes to begin the process. To join splitted files just locate the first splitted file. You can send output to a folder of your choice or write the pieces directly to floppies. So if you are still not happy just let me know i can make it spicier, but please vote.

I have seen many freebie file splitters that split the file x number of times and also produce a .bat file. The .bat file just uses a DOS command and a little scripting to glue all the pieces back together again. The advantage to this is the end user doesn't need the original splitter program. An example is located at the following link. I just did a search for 'file splitter'. http://www.zdnet.com/downloads/stories/info/0,,000Y6O,.html

It doesn't appear to be spyware. There is no ReadV and no aafgan.scr. I think this may be a trick, but caution is still advised.

I searched the entire code and couldn't find the sub or function named ReadV() or any reference to the file aafgan.scr. I, also, didn't find any file like this in the zip file that I downloaded from PSC.

I don't know what this guy (Paski) is talking about...

Nice code, Rohullah Habibi.

Five planets for you.

Excellent! This solved a big problem for me, as somebody needs to send me a big file and my email/ftp space is not big enough. The source code is very well done. The program works just as you'd expect it to -- very intuitive. Five planets from me!

What PASKI told is true - but the one he talked about was under #16694 and is meanwhile deleted. I have both versions here and in the 16694 is the dangerous code that phones home every time you start the pc and sends details about your pc, passwords, network e.g. to an IPandPass@hotmail.com or/and nukefision@hotmail.com. Whenever you unzip the file and find there an CuteSplit.frp (176Kb) be aware and don't run the sourcecode. Not only a aafgan.scr will be copied and excecuted . you will also find an explorers.exe in windows-directory and a run= in System.ini.

I'm having a hard time finding the exact part of the code that contains the process where text is written to the new split files. I'm trying to mod the program so that it appends an html link to another split file. I've tried everyting and it doesn't seem to work at all. Any help?
