Building Professional ActiveX Components (DLL) for Microsoft® Windows® Distributed interNet Applications Architecture (Windows DNA), in this example you maybe understand the use of DataAccess Components and Bussiness Logic Components, my components are compatible with almost every task and programming language: VC++, VB Frontend or ASP/Pearl), I buit this components for an ONLINE (WWW) CD Shop, like CDNow. Written for SQL Server 7.0 and 2000. If you can, write this in VC++ with 100% SQL without the ADO (Performance) Like I do for my work. Hoh Yeah... Long Live THE QUEEN OF HOLLAND. Enjoy. P.S: You NEED the GuiGen.DLL for the ID's, those are 38 long Unique Identifiers, I can't ADD that DLL because you need to pay for it... I'm sorry, but you may replace it with some other (less effective maybe).. Good Luck.

All the best comes from Holland! Too bad that's a disadvantage for the rest of the world. ];o)

Fijn om eindelijk weer 's wat Nederlandse coders te zien.

about GUIDs. well no VC dlls needed here:

Private Declare Function CoCreateGuid Lib "ole32" (g As GUID) As Long

Public Type GUID
Data1 As Long
Data2 As Integer
Data3 As Integer
Data4(7) As Byte
End Type

... hohoh... what about error handling -- none whatsoever. how do you change connect string? it hard coded in EVERY class out there.

Hi wqw! This is a harly basic example of W. DNA, don't take it serious. The connection string can be retrived from an apart server or in the registry (eg).
About your solution of GUID's, well, i still prefer the way I did, if you want the DLL mail me. Because my salary (brad) comes from stuff I make like this, it's obvious that I don't reveal all my potencial and know-how secrets. The basic idea of me to post this code was to make some people understand the very basics of W. DNA & COM+. Good luck.

It would have been great if you had also included the SQL scripts for the database creation but anyways, i appreciate your hard work, and thanks for posting such a great source code here on the planetsourcecode, thanks a million.
