ICQ-Pager is a complete GUI-application which lets you send a message to the ICQ-Pager. The downloadable zip-file includes the complete project for MS Visual C++. The subfolder 'Release' contains the compiled and 'ready to run' exe-file. The sourcefiles are fully documentated, so this is a good start if you want to learn something about basic GUI- and winsock-coding. The code does not use the MFC, just standard WIN-API.

the wwp.icq.com isn't taking the string being sent to it so you will need to study the protocol more...you will need to check for your own icq notification through a packet sniffer....get a free one called commview look for it in google to study the connection i got mine to work...and another thing if your getting errors with winsock make sure you include

the code works fine you just need to notice that wwp.icq.com has changed the way they handle the string being sent with a packet sniffer...try commview it's free...you need to include "wsock32.lib" or "ws2_32.lib" in VC++ 6.0 Projects->Settings->Link->Object/Library Module .... other than that it works fine
