Ian Ippolito (vWorker)
Bio As CEO: I am the CEO of vWorker and Exhedra Solutions, Inc. After working for a number of years in the Information Technology business for companies like Siemens, GTE, R.W. Beck and Associates I founded Exhedra in 1996. The idea for the company's first product came when I discovered how difficult it was to create Windows Help files. The resulting program--Help Maker Plus--became an award winning product recognized by companies like ZDNet and Compuserve for its ease of use. In 1997, the idea for the next product came when I was unable to locate any quality websites for source code (the building blocks of all computer programs). I created one of the web's earliest interactive public source-code libraries on a website called Planet Source Code (http://www.PlanetSourceCode.com). The site won accolades from Microsoft, Netscape and numerous other companies (http://www.PlanetSourceCode.com/vb/about/Awards.asp?lngWId=1) and attracted high profile technology advertisers such as Oracle, Microsoft and others. Today it houses over 29 million lines of source code and receives over 9 million page-views per month from over 1.5 million coders who visit each month. In 2001, the next idea came when I realized my busy schedule was forcing me to turn down too many offers for paid work. I created a site where employers could find remote workers in a marketplace and be protected with money-back guarantees, while the workers would be guaranteed payment for a job well done. The resulting site was (at that time) called Rent a Coder and was programming focused. The site grew to facilitate thousands of succesful projects a month in all types of work, and was re-christened as vWorker in 2010. vWorker was called "One of the 100 most brilliant companies" by Entrpreneur magazine, and has been profiled in the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Fast-Company and many other journals and magazines as a company exemplifying the shift of power to the new world-wide digital economy. It is a 3 time (2007, 2008, 2009) consecutive winner of the INC 5000 "fastest growing private company in the U.S. award". In 2008, I was a finalist for Tampa Bay CEO of the Year in the category of "Emerging CEO: Under age 40". In 2009 I was again a finalist for Tampa Bay CEO of the Year... this time in the "Small company under 45 employees" category. Bio As a Technologist: I have 14+ years of experience in the IT industry in progressive roles from software developer, team lead, project leader, independent consultant, and enterprise architect. I specialize in n-tier and web-based applications. I am a frequent contributing editor to Ziff Davis's "Active Developer" and "Inside Visual Basic" (http://www.zdjournals.com/ivb/0003/ivb0031.htm) magazines and I am also the creator of www.PlanetSourceCode.com (over 9 million page views/month) and www.RentACoder.com. Finally, I'm a Microsoft certified profesional in Visual Basic (desktop applications as well as distributed applications). Hobbies: I enjoy travelling and particuarly enjoy excellent food with good company. I also love to lift weights. Certifications/Distinctions: Microsoft Certified Professional Microsoft Visual Basic for Desktop Applications Certified Microsoft Visual Basic for Distributed Applications Certified Microsoft Visual Interdev Certified Microsoft Front Page Certified Who’s Who in American Colleges Who’s Who in American High Schools Member of Mensa I am highly proficient in the following: ASP.NET, Visual Basic.NET, Visual Basic 6.0, SQL Server 2005, Active Server Pages, ASP.NET, Internet sites, E-commerce and payment systems.

There
is nothing much to say about me.
I came in contact with programming at
the age of twelve. I used to program in GW-Basic then on a 80386 machine. With
time, got interested in developing system utilities and viruses as a kid and
switched to C (TSRs). Then, C++ and later assembly language for x86 machines.
I thought about GUI development for the
first time when I saw Visual Basic (it had just been launched). I also tried my
hands on Java and web development using VBScript, JavaScript and ASP 3. Later,
APIs, Serial and parallel communication and VC++ attracted my attention and I
explored that area also.
I have worked a lot in VB6
professionally and presently working on .NET platform (VB.NET, C#.NET and
ASP.NET). Microsoft has acknowledged my efforts and has certified me to develop
solutions (They call it MCSD)... ;)
Presently, I am working as a freelance
Software Developer and spend rest of my time on Masters Degree.
Got motivation to develop coder000.com
from the response of pals at various forums where I occasionally serve as
expert or post articles. Come and check it once.
When I am not in front of computer, I
love to read, listen to music and sometimes teach. Exploring the unexplored is
another hobby.
