My name is Jeroen De Dauw. I’m an informatics student in Belgium, spending most of my free time on acquiring new programming skills and learning to create nice applications. I love open source and try to publish as much of my work as possible. I’ve also worked on multiple commercial projects in variouse languages.
I’ve been accepted for Google Summer of Code 2009 and will be working with Yaron Koren as mentor on a semantic maps extension for Wikimedia Foundation. This will take up most of my time in the period startin the 23rd of may and ending august 17th.
My main language is vb.net, but I’m also quite familiar with Java, PHP5, C#.Net JavaScript, SQL, Ajax, XML and XHTML, and in lesser extend with CSS, GWT, JSON, XAML and a whole bunch of others. Some noteworthy paradigms I have decent to expert knowledge about are OOP (Classes, Interfaces, …), multithreading, abstraction layers (MVC) and database.
Most of the things I’ve published can be found @ BN+ Discussions. I also have made contributions to The Code Project, Planet Source Code, Helpmij and variouse others.
