There are ways to get (claimed) very accurate timing down to .1 ms. but they are complex. Here's a very easy way to get millisecond accurate time and it's so easy. Almost a plug-and-play replacement for GetTickCount. Using timeGetTime will help you get past the 16 ms. reporting granularity of GetTickCount and it is a single call just like GetTickCOunt.
